Day 1: Sprint

ARDF SPRINT FRIDAY 7TH APRIL 2017
With thanks to Wycombe Abbey School for use of the campus, and TVOC for use of the map and area, and Dave Deane for the beacons.
Directions: Parking and event registration will be located at Wycombe Abbey School in central High Wycombe (HP11 1PE).
Entry from the main gate on Abbey Way (large multi-way-roundabout at bottom of Marlow Hill, A404), don't follow sat-nav back up Marlow Hill as this will go to the wrong entrance and it will be locked.
You need the entrance on the roundabout at bottom of the hill A404/A40 junction, through the large gated entrance.
Grid reference SU865926. Lat,Long 51.626021,-0.751070

See additional guidance below - it is a tricky turn and you don't want to get rear ended
Terrain: grounds of Wycombe Abbey School with lake, parkland, woods, hills and an array of gothic buildings. Leg cover advised as there are some nettles/brambles. There's still quite a lot of construction work going on in some parts of the school buildings which may or may not be marked on the map as it's changing all the time, so do stay clear of any unmarked construction areas when running. Watch out for some broken fences/wire in the woods.
There are facilities at nearby Waitrose superstore – top of Marlow Hill A404, close to M40, J4, next to sports centre. The shop has a café and toilets and free parking, suggest you make use of this before coming into the school grounds. Alternatively you could park at school and walk a short distance over into the town and use facilities or cross road to the hospital and use café/facilities.

Additional Driving Guidance

Using the street map link below and the attached pdf will give you
the correct route to the entrance gate of Wycombe Abbey School
from the M40.

Drive down Marlow hill to the Roundabout system in High Wycombe.
High Wycombe has a 'Large Magic' roundabout. A large central island
with 5 outlying roundabouts

Go down Marlow Hill, turn right at the first roundabout, you will
then see the entrance to the school on the Right (50m), DO NOT
turn right to enter the school. Continue to the second roundabout
and make a 180 turn so as to approach the school from the other
direction. Other drivers will not be expecting you to make this
turn so be careful/slow. The School entrance is then 50m on the Left.
Be careful again, other drivers will not be expecting you to turn
into the school.
